Few weeks ago, I had gone for a holiday trip. It was a trip to one of the world heritage sites in India. Ever since my childhood, I have been a history buff. And I had always fantasized about visiting the places that I read about in my school history textbooks.
And when finally, I landed in Aurangabad, I was too excited. Aurangabad is near two big world heritage sites. First – Ajanta Caves. And Second – Ellora Caves. So, visiting them was a dream come true for me. And Guess what I was not going alone to visit these lovely sites. I had my children and my wife.
There we were. The site is approximately 50 and 100 kms from the city of Aurangabad. First, we planned to go to Aurangabad because one of my close friends had recommended Ellora is one of the Must Visit Places before we Die.
The first day we rested at our halting point in Company Guest House. And prepared our mind and body to truly experience the spectacles that these sites were. Ellora is having 34 Caves which are spread over an area of 2.5 kms. They are in a series one after the other. The same is for Ajanta which is again a series of 29 Caves in a horseshoes shape.
So, to explore these two sites, it required more than just the Intellectual Curiosity. It required us to be physically fit and agile to explore the whole vicinity of Caves. We started somewhere in the morning around 11 AM by the time when we had purchased our Visiting Tickets and were all set to get into the Site. And guess what, it took us 5 hrs to truly explore everything. So, we were there till 4 PM enjoying the historical marvels of Ancient India.
The Visit to the Caves required us to walk, bend, stretch, turn, step up and climb occasionally. And everything could be explored only by foot. We walked up to each sculpture housed there and amazed ourselves. The more we saw of their beauty, the more amazed and curious we grew! These Caves are sequentially numbered from 1 to 34 at Ellora and these re well known for their Sculptures and the Cave Architecture. Few Caves were Multistoried.
As we were exploring these Caves, I felt something that I thought I should be sharing with you. I think that this true relishing of the historical wonders wouldn’t have been possible without the fitness and the agility of mind and body. And Spirit as well!
Until we are healthy and fit, no matter how much wealth we have created for ourselves and our descendants they all turn to ashes if we are not quite capable in terms of our mind, body, and spirit. Therefore, bargaining your mental and physical health to amass money and material benefits is just a waste of our time and our energy and the sheer wastage of this beautiful human form that we have been bestowed with which can think and appreciate!
So, please look after your health. Invest into it. Value it. Preserve it. Keep it on top of your priorities. And feel the gratitude towards the creator who has created you. I think this is the way to true Salvation. What do you Say?
