Your sleep is your delight

Sleep is an enjoyable pursuit. The almighty has created us in such a way that it has allocated ⅓ of our day to sleep. Sleep is that important. It is important as it is the time to recharge our batteries so that we are in sound mind and sound body once again to face another day and another day and so on.

Sleep is a luxury as well as a necessity.  Those who get tired working through the day pushing their body to its limits often get a very sound sleep. So you should strive to tire yourself so well that by the time you hit the bed, you are ready to pass away till morning.

Getting a good sleep is tied to cultivating a sleep inducing bed time routine. Here is something that you may try and see:

To go to sleep, allow yourself 30-45 minutes to slow down before you close the eye lids. You may leave the world behind and enter your bedroom with an empty mind. Don’t carry any mental baggage in.   That’s the first and foremost thing that you should do.  Keeping your fone outside the bedroom could be a very superior measure to maintain complete disconnect with the world.

In your bedroom, you can carry your radio, books, music and your loved ones. No video and any such devices. Put on the music that soothes your minds and brings calmness and peace within. Keep your bedroom clutter free with ample space for the air to circulate. Your bed should be neat and tidy.

Pick up a book that is easy to read and brings some smile on your face.   You can play some music and close your eyes to listen to that music. If you are not alone in the bedroom, then you have the best choice of chit chatting with your partner.  What you talk to each other is not about the world and its worries. You may keep the anxieties for another day. Pick up general topics to bring peace and smile on the face of each other.

And slowly but surely you will see that your eyes are getting dimmed to close another day and rest before you take on another day.
