Experiencing a life filled with peace and harmony, joy and laughter comes not by chance, but by choice.

My concept of life has changed a lot ever since I started to run. What I used to think about an ideal life has undergone a sea change for me.

Today, I had been at my friend’s place after I returned from work. Living a forced bachelor life, I thought I should better use my time today just before weekend begins to have some home made meals. So, I asked my friend to host dinner for me for which he gladly obliged.

So, after meals, and having spent some time together listening to his musical melodies, I was coming back home. On the way, I saw a runner who was running with the reflector suit on. I asked my friend to slowdown the car. Slowing down is a mark of respect for a runner.

Seeing him made me feel like putting on shoes and going for a run myself. Instead I thought I ll pen my feelings through this post.

So, I was telling you about my ideal life. My ideal life used to be an easy going and laid back life to be the gift I would enjoy. And that’s what people still do around me. Tomorrow being the weekend, there will be less traffic on the roads in the early morning. Children will be at home and the parents will wake up pretty late.

And that’s what a holiday looks like. An easy one and a lazy one. But for me that’s history now.  I don’t feel the same these days.  On the contrary, I now believe that a weekend is the day to have a life that begins before the dawn. 

So, I have already planned my run for tomorrow.  I had asked my running buddy to be ready and we are going to meet there. 

Being in bed after the sunrise is like a crime for me.  As soon as the sun rise, I dream to be up and living every moment of life.   That’s what my grandparents did back in the farms in the villages.  They got up much before dawn ans worked in their farms moving their bodies and working hard tending their crops in fields. 

Our body and the mind are attuned to the cycle that aligns with the movement of the sun.  The sun is the source of our energy ans enthusiasm.  Receiving it’s forst rays is no less than a blessing.  We bow to the Sun as the first thing in the morning.  Sages will be taking holy dip in the Sangam at Prayag at those unearthly hours and offering their prayers ans bowing to the great God, Sun. 

Beginning your day at the break of a dawn with the mind body fitness program is the best thing I have felt to be doing.  I feel so sad when I think of the days when I had no idea about this Great Secret.    People who don’t see the Sun Rays in the morning are unfortunate people for they will never realise the blessing that’s available to them every day on earth. 

So, I will wake up and finish my daily ablutions.  I begin my day with a glass of tepid warm water.  Then, I brush my teeth and go to loo to clear my stomach.  And I feel so light and fresh after a good night sleep. 

Our morning hours should be spent in nourishing our body and the mind.  If you plan to live a rich and joyful life, then you must have a beautiful morning routine. Unfortunately, the industrial civilisation has lost this ancient secret of vitality in life.  The first few hours, ( atleast na hour or two) must be spent to get our mind and body in shape. 

Getting the body in shape means doing exercises.  Doing the body movements.  Flexing our muscles.  stretching and jumping, turning ans twisting etc.  I love to run and so, I pull up my socks, lace my shoes and get into my running gear ans go running. Out in the open. 

Running is liberating. I think every one on earth should learn and experince the joy of running.   Run in the open ans beautiful roads and nearby lakes and parks.  It gives an amazing feeling. 

And before I step out for running, I take time to nourish my mind.  That’s what our ancestors used to do.  They would chant mantras.  These mantras were the codes like today’s affirmations ! When these mantras were chanted, the mind experienced unbound joy and peace and filled the mind with an ocean of energy that would last the whole day.  I wonder why people have forgotten this?

Though, I am in an infant stage of my life to learn these mantras, I devote my time to reading books that give postivity and help me understand life.  I think I am still growing as a lot of life secrets are unvield as I continue to reflect and introspect to learn to improve!

You can also do that! Create a great morning for yourself.  Dont allow the time pass by and you end up closing your stay on earth with an unkind note and lots of regrets!

There is a lot that I want to talk about on mental health.  But, one thing that I simply feel is that these days almost every one is sufferring not just from physical illness but also the mental illness and the root cause of this illness is that we have lost the great art of living life as per the laws of nature. 

We have turned the things upside down ans therefore, we are challenged with so mnay issues like depression, stress, fear etc.  Want to live a good life, then, think of your Morning time and Run!
