When I started my fitness journey, I was too curious to learn anything and everything about health and fitness. So, I opened my heart as well as mind to learn, understand and feel what’s good for me.

And here I am getting mind boggling of understand of how so many things affect us so badly. Becoming aware of what’s wrong is I guess is more important than what’s good.

Let me start with characterisation of our foods. If you look at what you eat a little more deeply, you will see that we never ate so much fast food as we do it today.

For example, the trend before was to invite your family and friends to home and host them lunches and dinners. The home cooked food in fresh oil and spices would never cause si much damage as the same set of food eaten in a fancy restaurant.

This is what I mean by westernisation of our diet. We may be eating Indian food but not the Indian way.

And this is very important to understand to become aware of what’s wrong with us. As long as you are eating from your personal kitchen or your family /friends hosting at home, you can be sure you are age. But , the same can not be said about the outside food of restaurants, dhabas, fast food joints etc.

While I was at college during my hotel management days, I was told that food is the best way to reach someone’s heart. I would just add the Caveat here that that food should be from your kitchen, not from outside !
