While I was eating a good piece of Samosa, this thought just crossed my mind. Today is Saturday and I am off from work. Shall be visiting my place to meet my family. While I leave the office and head towards the station to get onboard my journey home, I make a stop over.

A colleague at work whom I had revealed my plans regarding the stop over told me some nice snacking ideas. I had told him that I shall be making a stop to have my scoop of Ice Cream even though winter season has arrived.

I arrived at the mall and straight away made my way to the counter where I paid 41/- Rupees and literally demanded my Ice Cream like my 10 year old. She was amazed and asked me charmingly,

“ Plain or with Chocolate Sir”.

I wanted it rich. So, straight away I told her, “With Chocolate of course”.  I had no doubt that today I will enjoy it !

I see a lot of people around me who are scared to utter anything sinful. Even Though, they may be having dollops and dollops of ice cream, they will tell you that they cannot afford to have a scoop! It has blah blah effects.

So, without guilt today, I had my scoop in my hand and climbed up the escalators while licking the most enticing item for my palette. By the time I reached the bookstore that I visit more frequently than a temple, it was over!

Maybe I spent close to an hour browsing through the maze of books on every goddamn topic my eyes could collect! And as I came out, I recollected what my dear colleague had prescribed to me – the mouth watering Samosas.

Samosa, the Indian knows it’s Value. Haha ha

In the name of good health, we sacrifice so much. Why? As I located the shop he had suggested my logic to abstain from such exotic foods became weaker!

Infact, that was the reason, it all had started some 7 years ago. I had realised then that the kind of fragile body I was carrying without caring and nourishing it much, I would not continue to enjoy the gifts of being born a human being!

So, I had relented and made the decision to get disciplined. Lots of people think otherwise, they think that eating and feasting is anti to a healthy and fit living. I think it’s the other way. You can only feast as long as you are healthy and fit. Don’t sacrifice your Samosas, Jalebis, Chole Bhature just to escape the guilt of being a sinner.

All you need to enjoy life is to ensure the continuity of enjoyment. And for that you just need to wake up and start caring at the same time. You don’t need to be politically correct. Get your character right and behave responsibly while no one watches you. Tell yourself that you are doing exercises, sleeping on time and shuning social media because you have a long term plan to live a happy and joyful life that would allow you to have dollops of ice creams in your 80s- 90s.

As I take out my phone and scan the QR, I am silently expressing my gratitude to the one who gave me the idea and commit to my enjoyment!

Thanks Buddy.
